About This Journal

The journey of developing the LI: Lignatorum Investigationes Journal began with a few undergraduate students and one professor who started an Undergraduate Research Club. Thanks to the persistence of undergraduate students Benjamin Dickey, Alec Watson, and assistant professor Deborah Williams, the club continuously met to discuss ways to promote scholarly endeavors for undergraduate students. After the departure of Benjamin Dickey and Deborah Williams, Drs. Susan Reily and Sarah Straub joined as faculty sponsors. Soon after joining as co-sponsors, Drs. Reily and Straub discussed a plan to develop a journal for undergraduate research. Their goal was to develop a journal that met the original purpose of the Undergraduate Research Club and connected with components of the SFA Envisioned Strategic Plan.

Connection with SFA Envisioned Strategic Plan
Overarching Goal:
  • Transformative Experiences for SFA Students: We will engage our students in experiences that prepare them for the challenges of living in a global community.

Supporting Goals:
  • Foster Academic & Co-Curricular Innovation: As the needs of our students evolve, so should our curricular and co-curricular programs. We will be innovative in the ways we reach our students and prepare them for lifelong learning and successful careers in the 21st century.
  • Increase Connections: We will embrace the strengths of our stakeholders to better enable us to provide a stellar learning experience for our students and contribute to the quality of life of everyone we touch.
