The purpose of LI: Lignatorum Investigationes includes components that align with the overarching goal of the SFA Envisioned Strategic Plan; Transformative Experiences for SFA Students.

The purpose of the journal is to provide an outlet that will lead to more opportunities that will encourage both faculty and students to engage in experiences that will prepare our students for the challenges of living in a global community.

Challenges that graduates will encounter and are often addressed through the act of engaging in research or creative design include the pursuit of independent critical thinking skills along with oral and written communication skills, and better preparation for application of their future career expectations.
