DECORATION: The rim has an engraved scroll motif repeated four times around the rim. The motif varies on this vessel because the upper and lower ends of each scroll end in engraved semi-circles. Inside each semi-circle is an excised circle with rays or star bursts. The motif dividers are negative backward S-shaped elements. A white kaolin clay pigment has also been rubbed in the engraved lines.
