DECORATION: The rim panel has a central ticked oval repeated four times around the vessel; within each oval is a vertical ticked scroll line. Between each of the ovals is a diagonal scroll line (also ticked) and upper and lower fill zones defined by sets of four negative ovals. The largest of the negative ovals has a small vertical dash or spur within it, similar to the small dashed mark or spur used on the circle and nested triangle and alternate nested triangles motifs on Ripley Engraved vessels (Thurmond 1990). Both the interior and exterior vessel surfaces have a red slip.
