There are three sets of horizontal diamonds within the motif, the innermost of which has excised corners, creating a negative oval within the diamond. The diamonds themselves are outlined by cross-hatched engraved triangles at the corners of each of the rectangular panels. The six panels are each separated by two vertical engraved lines on the rim. A white clay pigment has been rubbed in the engraved lines.
