DECORATION: The rim has an engraved motif that is repeated seven times around the vessel. The motif differs from the classic scroll in that the scroll itself contains both upper and lower circles instead of a simple scroll line (see Thurmond 1990). These engraved circles have a small internal circle with excised rays. The scroll dividers are excised brackets with negative backward S-shaped elements. A white clay pigment has also been rubbed in the engraved lines.
