DECORATION (INCLUDING MOTIF AND ELEMENTS WHEN APPARENT): The rim panel has a simple engraved scroll motif repeated four times around the vessel; there are no scroll fill zones, only a stack of three scrolls in each motif. The scrolls are divided by engraved brackets with two small excised pendant ticks; these simulate a negative S element as seen on some Ripley Engraved, var. Gandy vessels.
