DECORATION (INCLUDING MOTIF AND ELEMENTS WHEN APPARENT): The rim panel is decorated with an engraved negative continuous scroll motif that is repeated four times around the vessel; there is no central scroll line as with Ripley Engraved, var. Carpenter. The upper and lower scroll fill zones are large triangular-shaped zones filled with negative oval and negative S-shaped elements that are outlined by hatched and cross-hatched areas.
