Description

From repository: Chipped stone blade, with good marginal fine flaking, made from a flake which curves laterally and toward one face. Found in Burial Pit 2 at Gahagan Mound. Its curved shape immediately suggests a knife; no stem and the base is mildly concave. It is made from a gray chert, well worked. Length 12.7 cm. along one edge, 12.1 along the shorter; width 3.5 cm., thickness 5 mm.

This biface is curated at the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum in Shreveport, Louisiana.
