Abstract
Equations were developed for predicting total above-ground fuel weight (ovendry in grams) of 19 understory woody plant species in eastern Texas forests, using logarithmic equations and stem basal diameter. Prediction of woody fuel weight can be used to enhance fire intensity estimates under varying fuel moisture and weather conditions. Key words: biomass, fuels; understory species; prediction equations.
