Abstract
This is a large parade in the city of El Alto, one of the highest locations in Bolivia and, at the time (2001), one of the fastest growing cities. Many of the groups seen in the video represent university clubs or fraternidades. These groups compete for awards and you can see the groups pausing to perform in front of the judges' stand. Dances represented include the Morenada, the Tinku and Los Doctorcitos.
