Faculty Self-Awareness of Identity and Power in the Classroom: A Moderated Faculty Panel
Abstract
Panelists will address questions of how elements of their personal identities have impacted the student learning experiences they created, share stories of how their identities positively or negatively affected student learning, discuss how they become more self-aware of their individual identity and their students’ identities, and describe the ways in which they have sought to self-reflect (and encouraged students to do the same) and change in order to create more equitable learning experiences
