Title

Social and Emotional Awareness Training for Teachers

Abstract

In a study released by the CDC, even when students are not physically attacked, "students witness 68-80% of domestic assaults" in the home. These experiences will undoubtedly affect the child's social emotional development (Edwards, 2019). From this session, the audience will be able to take away skills and understanding about how to more effectively approach children/students who are dealing with social emotional issues specifically focused on violence in the home. It addresses the complexities between power and control. The session is a combination of empirical research and lived experiences.
