Located in the southwestern tip of England, Cornwall is a peninsula between the Atlantic Ocean and the English Channel. While known for its seafaring and fishing, tin mining was an mainstay of the county's economy from the mid-1500s until the end of twentieth century. The landscape is a combination of broad moors, rugged coastlines, and geological outcrops. Historic sites include those of Celtic and Roman construction as well as 19th century mining industry buildings. Truro is the county's major city while Falmouth is one of the largest natural ports in the world.
