Abstract

The evolution of nursing education in the Philippines is driven by dynamic global healthcare demands and an accelerated shift toward blended learning modalities. The central challenge lies in preserving the humanistic values of compassion and integrity within technology-mediated environments. This study addresses this issue by developing a Charism-Based Faculty Instruction Framework (CBFIF) designed to empower clinical instructors at the University of the Assumption College of Nursing and Pharmacy (UACONP) in their crucial role as "Formators of Catholic Leaders." The framework is intended to cultivate the institution's core graduate attributes: "Biasa" (academically competent), "Maganaca" (morally upright), and "Mayap" (socially responsible). A qualitative single case study design was employed, utilizing Braun and Clarke's Reflexive Thematic Analysis of interviews with 10 clinical instructors and a comprehensive documentary analysis of university publications. Key findings revealed significant pedagogical and technological adaptation challenges in blended learning, difficulties in assessment and feedback, and the nuanced process of integrating institutional charisms and graduate attributes. The research underscored the profound commitment of instructors to their expanded role as formators and highlighted the need for continuous professional development and explicit strategies to embed values-based education in hybrid settings. The CBFIF is conceptualized to enhance the instructor's role by providing practical tools and guidance aligned with the university's mission and the inherent ethical considerations of nursing. The study's implications extend to professional development, institutional identity, and the broader discourse on values-based education in contemporary contexts.
