About the Index

The bulk of the archaeological contract reports uploaded to the Index of Texas Archaeology were generated by publicly-funded projects, and the Index of Texas Archaeology makes those reports available to the global public at no cost.

The Index of Texas Archaeology is an open-access resource that seeks to eliminate the current dearth of access to gray literature associated with archaeological undertakings in and around Texas through curating, indexing, and distributing content to a global audience without the added requirement that users register with the site to locate or download content of interest.
