Abstract
Design Philosophy
As an interior designer my main focus is to design an environment that will enhance the quality of life and culture of the occupants and still be aesthetically pleasing. A design philosophy varies from designer to designer but our end goal is all the same; we care about the health, safety, and welfare of the occupants that will inhabit the space as well as the beauty of the space. I am hoping to pursue hospitality design so my personal design philosophy is to create a beautiful yet function environment that has the comfort of home combined with a momentary escape from the world. I want to create designs where the guest can find solitude even while being in a public place. I want to help create memories.

Brief Introduction
Hello I’m Sara Rodriquez; I’m from Houston, TX and will be graduating at Stephen F. Austin State University in August 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design. I am a very creative and detail oriented person and have always had a passion in art. I wasn’t always an Interior Design major, I use to be a business major but quickly found I couldn’t express my creative side in the way I wanted to. As soon as I switch majors everything just fit and I finally felt I was pursuing a career I could see a future with and something I knew I would always enjoy doing. My goal is to make my way into hospitality design, designing hotels, restaurants, and bars. I would love to have the opportunity to create a space individuals could come to, to escape from their lives and all their stress even if it is just for a few hours.
