Abstract
Design Philosophy
IN THE WISE WORDS OF ROBIN SIEGERMAN, “DESIGN IS ABOUT MAKING PEOPLE HAPPY, EITHER FUNCTIONALLY, AESTHETICALLY OR EMOTIONALLY.” OUR PERSONAL SPACE CAN REFLECT WHAT WE FEEL ON THE INSIDE BUT ALSO WHO WE ARE AS PEOPLE. MY DESIGN PHILOSOPHY IS TO CREATE AN AURA FROM WHICH NO INDIVIDUAL EVER WANTS TO ESCAPE. I WILL ACCOMPLISH THIS THROUGH SMART AND SIMPLE PLACEMENT OF SPACES, COLORS AND TEXTURES. I WANT EACH SPACE, HOME, AND OFFICE TO HAVE ITS OWN LIFE THAT EMBRACES THE HUMAN WHO OCCUPIES IT. MY DESIGNS WILL BE SIMPLE BUT SIGNIFICANT AND HARMONIZE THE MOOD WITH THE USERS. TO ME, DESIGN IS AN ART OF BALANCING THE FUNCTIONAL, THE CREATIVE, AND THE SUSTAINABLE.

My name is Dalila Ventura I am from Marshall, Texas. I credit my interest in design from playing Legos. I love the forms and shapes I could create, and how much creativity was involved. As a senior in high school I knew that I wanted to go into a major that allowed me to have as much freedom as possible for my creative mind. Interior design has allowed me to use my creativity freely while learning all the other nuts and bolts to it. In the future I want to be able to put everything I have learned in commercial design. My dream job is to design schools. I want to create environments for kids of all ages to enjoy and have a desire to attended school and learn.
