Abstract
After the sudden passing of father and husband, Noah Collins, Meredith Foster is left to deal with Noah’s children (her step children), who are not particularly her biggest fans. Tyler Collins, an insecure but fervent sixteen-year-old, not only despises his step-mother, but is also convinced that she had something to do with his father’s death and will stop at nothing to prove her guilty. Lucy Collins, a six-year-old softball prodigy, is a miniature version of her late father and takes his loss the hardest. On top of struggling to deal with her own grief and doing her best to console her step daughter, Meredith must fight to defend her innocence against Tyler and the rest of the town. Yet, is she completely innocent? Set in the fictional town of Cresswind, Texas, A Family Matter is a heartbreaking story of grief, romance, and revenge.
