Title

Diverse – Ay – Si!

Abstract

According to Teachers of Tomorrow, Texas has seen a 50% increase in the need for bilingual teachers, with only 20% of that need being met. It is crucial that bilingually certified teachers be available to serve our emergent bilingual students so that effective instruction and accurate and appropriate assessment of their knowledge and skills can be made. To that effect, bicultural students from the College of Education have worked for over a year to advocate for programmatic change at the institutional level -- and did it! Come attend this session to learn more about it!
