Aims & Scope
The Index of Texas Archaeology (ITA) is a digital repository that curates and distributes redacted (no site locations or photos of burials) archaeological works from projects conducted throughout the State of Texas and the adjacent region. Many of these projects occur under the auspices of a State Antiquities Permits or Archaeological Resources Protection Act (ARPA) permits, while others do not. All content is searchable and indexed by internet search engines through the title, author names or keywords, and abstracts. In addition, the (ITA) tracks metrics using PlumX (social media), Altmetric (social media), CrossRef (references), Google, and Google Scholar to provide authors and those that they cited with many of the same metrics used by large academic journals.
