Abstract

DESIGN STATEMENT

I have had an interest in art since childhood. Having a talent in oil painting and then gaining experience as a theatre set designer, I notice how the atmosphere of a space effects one’s frame of mind and how surroundings if properly designed leave an impression for a lifetime. I enjoy unconventional styles and I appreciate using green, eco-friendly design. I love using contrast by using two different styles together within the same space while also keeping the design as simple as possible.

INTRODUCTION/PROFESSIONAL GOALS

My name is Kaycee Ricketson and I am looking forward to a career that is fun and rewarding. My interest in design started after a love for creativity and art. With the skills I have learned such as computer rendering, building safety, and problem solving, I will be able to improve the interiors of where people live and visit. My favorite part of Interior Design is creating floorplans then choosing the fabric, finishes, and furniture to go into those spaces. I am excited to grow and expand my knowledge in the interior design profession.
