The Effectiveness of Guided Reading on Reading Achievement

Description

This study investigated the impact of guided reading for 30 minuets three days a week for eight weeks on the reading achievement of three second grade students in a rural school district in East Texas during fall 2012. Within the investigation, the students were scored using three reading assessments. These assessements were used to inform the teacher candidate of the students' potential reading levels. The goal was to show an increase in the students reading level with the assistance of guided reading instruction.
