Abstract

Best Management Practices (BMPs) are practical measures implemented to reduce the impacts of human activities on water resources. BMPs identify the best available pollution control technologies for nonpoint (diffuse) sources pollution, taking into consideration practical, societal, and economic considerations. Use of appropriate BMPs can significantly improve runoff water quality from land uses like agriculture, forestry, and urbanization.
