Oral History Interview with A. Coy Allen
Coy Allen was born on January 19, 1920, in Houston County, Texas. He graduated from high school in Grapeland, Texas. After graduation, Mr. Allen attended Southern Methodist University for two years before becoming an Educational Officer at the Civilian Conservation Corps Camp at Ratcliff. He explains how life on the camp was different for him as a teacher, rather than a man that worked out in the field. Mr. Allen also served twenty years in the Navy and is a retired Chief Pharmacist. At the time of the interview, Mr. Allen lived in Gulfport, Mississippi.
