Oral History Interview with Artie Ona Hill
Abstract
Artie Ona Skinner Hill was born in Rockland, Texas, in 1909. Mrs. Hill discusses about her life growing up in a city during the early 1900s. Her father was a timber contractor and her husband worked at the railroad terminal in town. She had family that lived at Old Aldridge that she recalls visiting. She also mentions that her uncle was one of the first people in Rockland to buy a car. In addition, Mrs. Hill talks about her family heritage and how they ended up in Rockland, Texas.
